The teaching of the Greek language is conducted through structured programs in accordance with the specifications for the six language proficiency levels (Council of Europe) and is categorized as follows:

Semester and Academic Year Programs

The semester programs last 12 weeks (October – December), while the academic year programs last 24 weeks (October – May). These are attended by undergraduate and postgraduate international scholarship holders, participants in student exchange programs (Erasmus, research, etc.), full-time students, and individual residents of the wider area. The programs are offered at 20, 10, or 6 hours per week.

Summer Programs

These last 4 weeks. They are funded through tuition fees paid by international students or equivalent programs.

Language Practice Program

This program lasts 12 weeks. It is funded through tuition fees and includes 3 hours of instruction per week.

For the language courses in categories 1 and 2 (semester/year and summer programs), the number of classes offered mainly depends on demand and the language proficiency level of the participants. In category 1, student placement and enrollment in the appropriate classes are determined through a placement test. The date, location, and other details of the test are announced in a timely manner by the Laboratory’s administrative office.
